Filmed in Beirut on September 22, 2024, just hours before bombings erupted across the country, the film presents an interview with the Lebanese-French actress Manal Issa. Refusing to appear on camera, she reflects on the role of the actor amid a global conflict and on the questions once raised to the French actress Maria Schneider, known for her traumatic experience in the film Last Tango in Paris, as a perceptive critic of sexism in the film industry.

Elisabeth Subrin is an award-winning filmmaker and artist known for her use of reenactment, beginning with her seminal 1997 film Shulie. Her work has been presented internationally at venues including MoMA, the New York Film Festival, the Whitney Biennial, and the Cannes Film Festival, where her 2022 film Maria Schneider, 1983 premiered in Directors' Fortnight and won a César. Her acclaimed narrative feature, A Woman, A Part, premiered at Rotterdam. A Sundance, Fulbright, and Guggenheim Fellow, Subrin is a professor at Temple University and lives in Brooklyn.
