From the day he was conceived to his cinematographic death, the fantasmatic life-story of filmmaker Walerian Borowczyk. Boro-in-his-box discovers a cruel and obscene world. He experiences banal yet colorful adventures, from Poland to Paris, in an imaginary Alphabet.

Bertrand Mandico

A graduate of the Gobelins School of Visual Arts, Bertrand Mandico has worked for several art institutions in Europe and directed many short films. Two of them, “Boro In The Box” and “Living Still Life”, were selected at the Cannes Film Festival and at the Venice International Film Festival respectively, and have won several awards at international film festivals. Inventor of dazzling, crepuscular, humorous and sensitive universes, Mandico’s films re-appropriate genres and their conventions. His debut feature film, “The Wild Boys”, premiered at the 2017 Venice International Film Festival and won more than 10 awards around the world. He’s currently in post-production of his new feature film “After Blue” while continuing his project of directing 21 shorts in 21 years with actress Elina Löwensohn, including “The Return Of Tragedy”.
