ΤΑΙΝΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΜΙΚΡΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ (ΚΑΝΑΡΗ 1) - REQUEST FOR A SONG
The program begins with an analysis of the true story of the film which takes place in Greece during the dictatorship when N. Koemtzis stabbed three policemen in civilian clothes because they danced a song he had REQUEST FOR A SONG to be played by the band for his brother. It comments on the director’s effort to present the reasons but not justify the perpetrator’s acts. It praises the performances of the actors and the recitations of K. Gogou who “narrates some comments on the socio-political situation of the country playing the role of ancient Choros”. The program ends by mentioning the distinctions the film was awarded with.
