ΤΑΙΝΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΜΙΚΡΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ (ΚΑΝΑΡΗ 1) - SONG OF SEPARATION (ΤHE)

The program begins with the debuts of the film: the first modern speaking film processed in Greek laboratories and the first and only film which carries the director’s signature of F. Finos. It continues with details about the restoration of the film in 1994 by the Film Archive and the unpleasant “adventures” of the film in the years of the Second World War. It mentions the subject (the fateful love of a rich Athenian with an island fisherman), as well as the domination of song in the film. It ends with the observation that the protagonist, Lampros Konstantaras, is doubled by the excellent Greek artist Petros Epitropakis.
