Magic Lantern GLORIA

Model 'GLORIA' (a small label on the side, and, in front, by the lens, there are the letters 'E.P.'). Made by Ernst Plank, of black painted tin, while for its base it has four ‘tiger-claws’ painted gold. It projects glass slides. The company 'Ernst Plank, Fabrik Optischer und Mechanischer Waren' was established in 1866 in Nuremberg. It produced ‘lanterns’ until the middle of the decade 1920-30. Later on, it was sold to the company 'Noris Projektion GmbH', which specialized in ‘consuming’ projection systems. These lanterns, of exceptional manufacturing quality, were made from 1900 up to 1910 to be used primarily by children as a toy. Original 1908 price: $ 6.85.
