Summary A convict named Elli Kapralou (Zoi Laskari) refuses to see her mother Kaiti (Voula Zoumpoulaki) during visiting hours in jail. The head of the institute starts reading the woman’s diary. Elli was charmed by her mother’s unemployed lover Nikos (Alekos Alexandrakis), who was trying to seduce her into a passionate relationship. Her mother realized what was going on - but didn’t react, as she was afraid of losing her lover. When Elli had an affair with a gambler named Giorgos, who was being supported by a prostitute named Nitsa, Nikos became so jealous that she was forced to leave her house. Elli went to live with Giorgos, who, after a few months, abandoned her and went back to Nitsa. Elli was plunged into darkest despair. But hope again entered her life with the return of Kostas, a wealthy young man studying medicine in Germany, who was in love her. So she returned back home, determined to make a fresh start but her encounter with and unintentional surrender to Nikos was fatal, as it led to his murder and her expiation.
