Summary A modern urban woman, Lina, returns from her honeymoon and reflects upon her life up to that point. She unwinds the skein of memories (through linked flashbacks), from her first adolescent love with a school gymnast and, afterwards, with the following: a shy friend of her brother’s, Antonis, a student of nuclear physics; and her supervisor at work, Alek Panos, who had even proposed to her, a proposal she rejected despite her intense feelings. One night, she goes to one of Panos’ lectures, but he doesn’t seem to recognize her, so Lina ends up at the office of her mature husband, Christos, with whom she will spend the rest of her life.
