BLUE CANDLES (THE)

The film is the adaptation of the novel The Thorn by Spyros Potamianos (who also wrote the screenplay). It is an urban romance about the life of a lively young lady who has shaken off conventional female modesty, provoking her social circle. The film was considered an achievement in its time, both technically and artistically, but since then, its director, Michail Kounelakis, hasn’t tried his hand again at cinema and, instead, has devoted himself to literature and the theater.
