Summary A girl that lives on an island, Masa, meets an Athenian painter, Agis Normas, and accepts to become his model. She falls in love with him and follows him to Athens, where Agis gets involved with the setting up of a play and has a crush on a young actress. Masa is pregnant and returns to her island to give birth to her child, but Agis will never go find her, because he has completely forgotten her. When Masa hears that Agis is about to marry the actress, she throws their child into the sea and wanders, totally crazy, in the island.
