Summary Thanasis is a plain worker dreaming of immigrating to the U.S to make money, but he doesn’t get to make his dream come true. His roommate Nikiforos suggests that he asked another Thanasis for help and, thus, Thanasis is looking for his namesake. In the meantime he has worked in numerous places, from an escort in funerals to street cleaner. One day he meets Elpida, a desperate girl who wants to kill herself and rescues her. He falls in love with her and his life is not worthless any more. However, his bad luck hasn’t left him and somebody takes Elpida away form him. So, Thanasis is, once again, left all alone.
