Summary Charilaos Maraziotis (Nikos Stavridis) owns a store and owes so much money both to his lenders and to the state, that he is in danger of going to jail. His secretary and fiancée Iro, being poor, decides to marry some rich guy in a set marriage. The matchmaker is Antigoni, who wants to marry Charilaos off to her younger half sister, Ismini, who is in love with Thanos, a guy her age. Iro and Ismini, having heard of Charilaos’ plans, conspire to avert the unpleasant, to them, events. Charilaos has to pretend to be a psychopath and is sent to an asylum. His lenders, upon hearing the news about his mental health, change their attitude towards him and release him from his debts. He is now free to marry Iro.
