TWO MODERN PARTY-GOERS

Posterior title: GOODLIVERS (THE)
Alexandros Skouris is disappointed by his spendthrift son, Marios, who only thinks about having a good time. So, he offers him a last chance. He gives him three hundred thousand drachmas and a trusty employee of his, Polydoros, to set up his own business using this capital. But Polydoros is also a carouser and becomes a worthy match for Marios. Things might have gone from bad to worse, if it hadn’t been for Vera, their employee, who reports back to Mr. Skouris full details of the carryings on of the two miscreants. In a final attempt to save his son, he agrees with Vera to pretend to be gravely ill. The entire extraordinary situation, the hard terms of the will and Vera’s behavior (who, in the meantime, has fallen in love with Marios) bring the prodigal son to his senses, who changes from “scamp” to a prudent and respectable husband.
