Summary In 1940, a little before the outbreak of World War II, the Greek embassy in Rome notifies the Hellenic Navy that an Italian spy has been detected in its area. Soon, however, the spy ends up dead. After the torpedoing of the Greek light cruiser Elli, it falls to the lieutenant commander Vasilis Vachliotis, fiancé of the daughter of the rear admiral Liosis, to take a demotion in order to serve his country by helping to discover and arrest the spies who plan to steal the top-secret plans for the deployment of the Greek fleet.
