Summary Dimitris is a successful folk singer who is invited to sing at the engagement party of beautiful Marianna, daughter of the factory owner Gerasimos Karras. However, both Dimitris and Marianna feel an overwhelming attraction and decide to get married, infuriating her father, who considers disinheriting his daughter. Nevertheless, the voice of reason and cunning combined makes him set in motion the devious plan of his secretary. He forgives the couple and assigns Dimitris the management of the factory. His objective is to make Marianna understand that power and money will soon corrupt Dimitris as well, and that he isn’t much different from other men. Things, however, do not bear out his devious expectations, as Dimitris proves to be a decent guy, a fact that everyone comes to accept.
