Movie

YOUNG LADY, AGE 39

This film adaptation of the theatrical play by the same name was written by Alekos Sakellarios. The main hero is Tilemachos, who has been engaged to Fofo for years, but, as a good brother, waits for his older sister, Chrysanthi, to get married first. Years go by, and yet Chrysanthi is still single. Thus, Tilemachos is forced to put an ad in a newspaper, looking for someone to marry his sister. Two prospective grooms appear: a hale and hearty retired man, Kriton, and a Greek-American, Rokas, but the one is charmed by the young widow and Tilemachos’ cousin, and the other one by his fiancée Fofo. Both women accept their marriage proposals, and so Tilemachos is again left alone under the care of his sister. But not for long, since an old flame of Chrysanthi, Manolis, and an old friend of Tilemachos, Eleni, show up, and so the two siblings have now found their mates.
