Summary A man who suffers from amnesia returns to Greece after twenty years and is placed in a hospital where his brother is a doctor. It turns out that, during the German occupation, his brother had betrayed him and forty other people to the Germans. The man who is hospitalized is the only survivor and gradually starts to recall his past, when he meets his fiancée who has waited faithfully for him all these years. The parents of the two brothers welcome their long lost son. He remembers the oath he had made to take revenge on the traitor, but he hesitates to kill his brother. In the end, his brother (the traitor) commits suicide by the graves of the executed men, thus atoning for his evil deed.
