VASOULA AND THE BASES

A naïve and pretty girl from the provinces, with a half-crazy alcoholic father, Vasoula, is a paid female companion in a cabaret in Glyfada, where she is taken advantage by one of the usual rascals, Memas. One day, she meets a university student, Lefteris, who is wanted for having wounded a sailor of the 6th Fleet. As love starts to grow between them, Lefteris teaches Vasoula about her rights in life, but when he is arrested and thrown in prison, Memas winds the girl around his little finger again and continues to abuse her. Vasoula runs away and goes to live with his mother. She tries to earn her living honestly, but Memas tracks her down and forces her back into prostitution, until Vasoula feels that redemption will only be possible when she eliminates her oppressor for good. She kills him and is sent to prison as well.
