PATOUCHAS

Raised in the mountains of Crete during the Turkish occupation, Manolios goes down to the village and falls in love with a girl, but doesn’t have the courage to tell her. A beautiful widow (Zozo Sapountzaki) helps him get over his shyness, but his father (Dionysis Papagiannopoulos) sends him back to the mountains. Manolios, however, goes back to the village to meet the girl he loves and get permission to marry her, as soon as the island is liberated from the Turks.
