SILENT MARIA
A deaf-mute girl by the name of Maria (Aliki Vougiouklaki) lives with her father (Pantelis Zervos) on an island until she meets and falls in love with the teacher (Alekos Alexandrakis) who teaches her sign language. The girl is raped by the village’s most powerful man (Spyros Kalogirou) and gives birth to a boy. The rapist and his wife try to take the boy away from her. She reacts violently, and the rapist is killed; however, the judge lets her go free.
