Summary Theodosis Mentikas is a poor guy who lives in a run-down neighbourhood in Athens. He works at the amusement park where he runs a “tent of miracles”. One day, he finds out from a lawyer that he has inherited money from his brother, who lived for many years as an emigrant in Africa. The good news allows him to quit his job and change his lifestyle, misleading his nephew Nasos who is also a car mechanic. Nasos is in love with Mary, the daughter of Michos Ntermas, one of Theodosis’ friends who also works at the amusement park. Both the uncle and nephew borrow money from a usurer and live it up with Lucy and Bebi, who are principally interested in their money. However, there is a second will that makes Nterma the heir. He turns the two gold-digging women away and proves to be a kind-hearted person. He decides to give Theodosis the money that belongs to him. As far as Mary is concerned, she is ready to forgive Nasos for his moment of weakness because she loves him very much.
