Summary On the square of a village on a beautiful island in the Saronic Gulf there are two competing tavernas. One belongs to Aspasia Zormpala (Georgia Vasileiadou) and the other to Anargyros Prokopis (Vasilis Avlonitis), who is a former Sergeant Major of the Greek Army. Their constant conflict doesn’t affect their children, who love and meet each other in secret. The announcement of local elections creates a new battlefield for the two taverna-owners, as they both run for office and promise everything to everyone. In the meantime, their kids are drawing up plans to make their parents call a truce. Through the faked suicide of Aspasia’s daughter, they make Aspasia withdraw her candidacy. This leaves the field open to Anargyros. In the end, they both accept their children’s marriage.
