Summary Poor, young Thodoros (Giorgos Pantzas), a small-time liar and hustler, writes to his immigrant uncle in Australia that he is the father of two children and is experiencing financial difficulties. His rich uncle comes to Athens to give Thodoros part of his inheritance. So, the lying nephew finds himself in a tight jam. The situation is saved by an engineer’s assistant, whom Thodoros meets while looking to buy a house, and with whom he falls in love.
