Summary The distinguished doctor Alexis Karatos is the protector of young Aliki Loïzou. She is in love with the actor Petros Zaverdis, who is detained for the murder of the journalist Markou. Aliki believes that her beloved is innocent and asks Karatos, who led a resistance group during the Occupation – whose members included Zaverdis and Markou – to help her prove his innocence. Aliki, of course, doesn’t know that Karatos is the real murderer of Markou. He killed Markou because the latter was starting to look into everyone who played devious games during the war. Then, he framed Zaverdis as the main suspect in order to break up his relationship with Aliki (since he himself was in love with her). Zaverdis’ escape from prison and the help offered to him by the singer Ntora Fler, lead the police to the real killer, who, in the meantime, in order to cover his tracks, has committed two more murders.
