Summary The film is based on a true incident. In the year 1953, in a tobacco-growing village in Macedonia, a strange murder is committed. During the court hearing, it is evident, from the testimonies of the witnesses, that the real causes were not the usual property differences, as the gendarmerie and the district attorney had initially thought, but the financial differences and the merciless conflicts between the growers and the tobacconists. Forming a cooperative was the only way for the growers to defend themselves against the traders, who, of course, were dead against the establishment and strengthening of a growers’ cooperative, since, in this way, their position and negotiating ability would be reinforced. They even came to the point of committing a crime, which is now political and not criminal offense, in order to prevent the establishment of a cooperative organization.
