Summary This is a compilation film consisting of three stories, rendered with a sense of humor, romanticism and tragedy, all of which are supposedly born of the kind of life that forces girls, like the heroine of the film, into prostitution and vice. One such nightwalker is Koula, soliciting on Syngrou Avenue, who tells each customer a different story of her life. In the first story, she is Kaiti, a poor girl who lived with her mentally deranged grandfather and left her boyfriend for a rich man. After her grandfather’s death, her rich lover dumps her, while her ex-boyfriend is now married. Having nobody to fall back on, she ended up a prostitute. In the second story, her name is Anna and comes from a village, where the bride’s virginity has to be proven on the wedding night. She lost her virginity in an accident at a very young age, but in view of her forthcoming marriage with a fellow villager, she visits a surgeon in Athens to have her hymen sewn back together. Her husband knows the truth, but on discovering that she is apparently still a virgin, he becomes suspicious, and she is forced to leave the village and go to Athens, where prostitution was her only option. In the third story, she is Tina and a happy newlywed married to an architect. He gradually goes blind and needs an operation, but the cost is prohibitively high. To raise the money, she starts keeping rich men company, but when her husband’s vision is restored, and he finds out the truth, he turns her out of the house, forcing her to turn to prostitution to survive.
