Summary Ntinos (Alekos Alexandrakis) is the last survivor from a team of saboteurs that is betrayed to, and consequently obliterated by, the Germans. He finds refuge with a handicapped young lady (Pery Poravou) who hides him in the cellar of her house, but she keeps him captive there even after the end of the war, unwilling to lose her new-found love. At some point, Ntinos manages to escape the cellar and is embittered to find out that his lover (Efi Oikonomou) no longer wants him, that his friends have died during the Occupation, and it was one of his fellow soldiers (Christoforos Zikas) who betrayed his team to the Germans. Faced with such terrible truths, Ntinos feels he has no option but to return to the cellar and to the young woman who cared for him for so long.
