16mm Positive-Splicer

16mm adhesive tape-style positive film splicer made by LEO CATOZO. Used to join the ends of two pieces of film in order to make an ‘edit’ while doing the montage of a work print. The edges of the two pieces of film are fixed and stabilized by placing the perforations at the side of the film on registering pins which are located in a groove on the specially designed base. The two pieces are cut at the desired point by a guillotine splicer. From the 1970s.
